Getting started with SlackVaultGetting started with SlackVault means completing four setup steps in order before a first sync will run. You need a Slack workspace where you can install an app, a Firebase account for storage and a Chromium browser for the extension. Nothing is archived until all four are done, so it is worth working through them in a single sitting.How it works

Check the prerequisites A Slack workspace you can install an app into, a Firebase account and Chrome, Edge or Brave.

Create your Slack app Register the app in your workspace and grant the read scopes that match the conversations you want archived.

Configure Firebase Create the project that will hold the archive and paste its web config into SlackVault settings.

Install the browser extension Load the extension so there is something able to call the Slack API on your behalf.

Connect everything and sync Authorise the workspace and start the first sync. Initial runs take longest because there is no prior history to compare against.

What SlackVault does not do

None of these steps can be automated for you; each involves a console you control.

A first sync of a large workspace can take a long time and consumes your Firebase write quota.
